Welcome Readers and Fellow Writers!
This may be a bit unorthodox, but hey that is me in a nutshell. I wanted to drop by the blogosphere and let you know what you can expect from your friendly neighborhood wordsmith in 2018. In my last blog post I talked about vision boards, the law of attraction, and scheduling yourself as a full-time writer. I think it leads nicely into this post which is a bit about celebration. Something all writers can look forward if they keep crushing their goals. I talked briefly about my goals for 2018, and I wanted to share with you my release schedule. 2018 is shaping up to be a big, big year for my writing career, well bigger than last year and that's the friggin' goal right?! So let's dive in!
Genre: Serialized Fantasy Fiction
Release Date: Episodes 1-4 March 12th
Some of you may already know about this one as I have been posting a bit about it on Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram. This one came to me almost over night, like in a dream and I am super-duper-totally stoked about it. The premise in a movie pitch is the X-Files meets the Magnificent Seven. Imagine the Old West, the Civil War, 1860 America filled with witches, skinwalkers, ghosts, demons, and all manner of beastly ghoulies. Add on an all star cast of underrepresented character types with issues that resonate with the modern day and you've got Westward.
Enoch Clarke is an Occultare, a gunman who investigates supernatural occurrences for the Union army.
When a former partner, now turned rogue agent steals an ancient Navajo Kachina mask, Enoch is forced to confront a past he believed was long gone.
With the help of an unlikely band of misfits, Enoch must retrieve the mask before it's power instigates Civil War between the North and South.

Bard Song, a bardic micropoetry collection

This one is a bit different. Some of my readers, mostly on Instagram know about my little tryst with poetry. I like to warm up my writing sessions by scribbling down cryptic verse. Well I've collected a number of poems rging in topic from life, love, liberty, spirituality, you know the works! This one is just for fun, and will be the first of many entries into the realm of the poet.

The Writer's Guide: To Writing Effective Copy
Publisher: Amazon KDP
Release Date: April 30th
This little diddy is a handy-dandy guide to writing copy, for fiction writers. I wrote this book because I know that fiction writer's can write one hell of a story, but one aspect they struggle with is advertising. I want to help you out with that. I happen to moonlight as a copywriter, and have over fifteen years experience in sales. A friend once stated, "Christopher could sell a catsup popsicle to a grandmother in white gloves." While I have never attempted such a feat, I have picked up a few tricks along the way that I'd like to share with the writing community. This book will show you how to write effective language for ads on Facebook, Amazon, Twitter, Instagram, wherever. I've included a fair amount of the psycology of selling, as well as the art of persuasion.
Into the Mystic: a stream of consciousness memoir
Genre: Nonfiction Memoir
Publisher: Amazon KDP
Release Date: May 31st
This is one I've had in the can for awhile now, and I feel like its finally time to unleash it on the world. IT IS NOT FOR EVERYONE. Mature audiences only. If you do not like cursing, challenging world views, or stories with main characters you hate, it's probably not for you. This book was written to describe a certain unknown, and unspoken side of suburban life. It chronicles a young man in his twenties, struggling to come to terms with a world that has left the young behind. It will either never sell a copy or it'll be the most honest and daming thing I've ever written, no in between.
The musings of a lost soul searching for truth, love, and beauty in the wrong place, suburbia.

Mythic Masculinity: Reclaiming Rite of Passage in the Modern World
Publisher: Amazon KDP
Release Date: October 31st - ISH
This is where things get a little more interesting, I have yet to finish this book, and I don't know if it will really be ready by October 31st. It is a topic that is particularly important to me, and I believe to the world of men. The #MeToo movement has been an enlightening, if not fully-throttling experience for our society. I have decided to write this book as a reponse to what I believe may be plaguing men and boys in our society. The loss of a Rite of Passage, a mythic transformation within men has stiffled the age-old process of becoming men of power. Instead we live in a society that is ruled by weak tyrannous men who abuse their power in increasingly disgusting ways. This is another book that not everyone will agree with, but it is something I believe needs to be addressed, quickly.
I am considering Co-Authors and Essays from Men and Women for this project. Reach out below
Dream Reiki: Guided Meditations and Pathworking to employ Reiki in Lucid Dreaming
Publisher: Amazon KDP
Release Date: December 31st - ISH
Here is another one that is tentative, but no less interesting. Aside from being an author, writer, and blogger I am also a Reiki Practitioner/Master and this little manual will be my first contribution to the world of Reiki. I am actually quite excited about it, but am not sure if I will have everything done for a 2018 release. If not expect this one to come out in early 2019.
2018 should be a wild ride and I am looking forward to bringing all of these books into the world. I hope that those of you reading this article will find at least a couple of them interesting. If you don't like them, oh well! I guess I'll have to try harder in 2019.
WAIT WAIT WAIT...
What about Hallowed Veil Book 2!?
It's possible, however, unlikely that you have read or purchased my first book Nemeton, which I published towards the tail end of last year. If you have rest assured I am hard at work on the sequel which I believe will be ready to make its appearance somewhere near the middle of 2019. I know its a long time to wait in between books and I will try to bring it life sooner rather than later. In the meantime, I do want to say that I plan to release an updated version of Nemeton, this month with an interactive table of contents, and a few other bells and whistles that were missing from the first published verrsion in 2017. If you've already purchased Nemeton on Kindle the updated version will be auto-downloaded to your kindle device. Gotta love self-publishing...
As always, please feel free to reach out to me here, on Twitter, Facebook, or Instagram...
My 2018 Writing Journey...
I know what you are thinking, dude its freaking March! Well you should know the writer's life almost never goes according to plan by now. This post is an attempt to illustrate how I have seemingly corralled my writing journey into a nice, neat little package that will send me hurtling towards success. I won't lie I have that particular hope hanging out, whispering in my ear.
It says, "You CAN do it!"
You see last year I decided that I would no longer say the words, I CAN'T. It sounds easy but it isn't for multiple reasons. Firstly, just because you say something, that doesn't make it real. There has to be an unyielding intent propelling the words out into the universe. Second, you have to have a certain level of awareness of your own life, abilities, and a keen sense of what might be holding you back. In other words it takes some soul searching, meditation, journaling, whatever method you fancy to clear your head and get down to the nitty gritty.
Whatever you do, you need to do it and do it now! STOP WASTING TIME!
At the end of 2017, I was filled with two distinct emotions. The first was a shocking sense of pride that I had finished and published my first novel. It was a whirlwind of frenetic fun and frustration. Once it was done I felt great. I had done it. Then after a deep breath I began to see flaws. Not only in the finished product, but the process, the journey, and in my craft. Then the second emotion/feeling came to me. I was sickened by the stupid amount of time it took me to write Nemeton and publish it.
Five years I spent...
Five years delaying my journey. Five years telling myself it is just too hard. Five years lying to myself and saying that it was the world's fault. For not giving me the time to write. For not giving me the inspiration. For not providing me with the tools or the money. Five years of I can't. It isn't the right time. It isn't ready. If you didn't noticed there were a lot of NOT's, IS NOT's and CAN NOT's plaguing me. It wasn't until I said...
SAY IT WITH ME... AGAIN...LOUDER!!!
